Leadership – Leaders Move Faster

Do you let “perfect be the enemy of the good?” Today’s customer is looking for speed and frictionless transactions – often ahead of money or perfection. Time is the one thing they can’t make more of. “Move fast and break things.” is the new normal. We create environments where analysis paralysis is the norm and CYA and fear to dominate the decision process.

Striving for perfection is great, but the fear of falling short and doing nothing is a recipe for disaster. Leverage your experience, skills, and instincts. Move faster.

Make a decision and act!

A good book on the challenges of perfection, which is a failure of trust in yourself and others at its core, is Patrick Lencioni’s The Five Dysfunctions of a TeamAnother is The SPEED of Trust by Stephen M.R. Covey. These two books do a great job of explaining the challenges that a lack of trust has on an organization and the cost in terms of speed and money that result.
